How Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins work
- Gold Coins (GC) are play money. You get them free when you sign up and through daily rewards, and you can buy more. They have no cash value.
- Sweeps Coins (SC) come free with sign-up and daily bonuses, in promotions and as a bonus with Gold Coin packages. Sweeps Coins you win can be redeemed for prizes at 1 SC to $1, after you’ve played them through once.
Because Sweeps Coins are always available for free, no purchase is needed to play for prizes. If you do buy coin packages, set a budget first and stick to it.
Bonuses and free coins
New McLuck players get a no-purchase welcome bonus of 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins. After that, there are free coins every day you log in, plus regular promotions and offers on coin packages. The first package you buy usually comes with extra Sweeps Coins, but no purchase is needed to play for prizes.
If you don’t want to buy anything, the sweepstakes rules also describe a free way to request Sweeps Coins by post. Exact amounts and offers change regularly, so check the promotions page in the app.
Games in the app
McLuck has a large library of more than 1,000 games. Most are slots from well-known studios, alongside its own progressive jackpot network. There are also table games such as blackjack and live dealer tables with roulette, which makes McLuck one of the broader sweepstakes apps in terms of game types.
Redeeming Sweeps Coins
- Play every Sweeps Coin through once (1x)
- Redeem from 10 SC for a gift card
- Redeem from 75 SC for a cash prize by bank transfer
- Verify your identity with a photo ID and proof of address before your first redemption
The 10 SC gift card minimum is one of the lowest among sweepstakes apps, so you don’t have to build up a big balance to see a prize. Cash prizes take a few business days; gift cards are usually much faster once your account is verified.
Using the McLuck Casino app
The iPhone app is well rated and loads the full lobby, cashier and redemption screens. On Android, McLuck has its own app on Google Play, so you don’t have to rely on the browser. Both versions carry the same coin packages and promotions as the website, and daily bonuses are easy to collect from the home screen.
The app is fairly large at around 150 MB on iOS and needs a recent iOS version, so older iPhones may not be able to install it.
How to get started on the McLuck app
- Download McLuck Casino: Games & Slots from the App Store, or the McLuck app from Google Play on Android.
- Sign up with your real name, date of birth and address. They have to match your ID later.
- Allow location access so the app can confirm you’re in an eligible state.
- Claim the welcome bonus and choose whether to play with Gold Coins or Sweeps Coins.
- Complete identity verification before you request your first prize.
Is the McLuck app safe?
McLuck is published on the App Store by B2Services and has been running since 2023. Prize redemptions require identity verification with a photo ID and proof of address, and location checks block players from excluded states. Its apps are listed on both the App Store and Google Play.
Like every sweepstakes app, McLuck isn’t licensed as a real-money casino, and state rules keep changing. Redeem prizes regularly instead of building up a large Sweeps Coin balance, so a rule change in your state doesn’t leave you with coins you can’t use.
McLuck compared with other sweepstakes apps
Compared with other sweepstakes apps, McLuck scores well on two points: a native Android app, which many rivals don’t have, and a 10 SC minimum for gift cards. Crown Coins only has an iPhone app and starts gift card redemptions at 50 SC, while Chumba asks for 100 SC before a cash prize. Where McLuck falls behind is availability: its 21+ age limit and long list of excluded states rule out more players than most.
Tips for playing responsibly
- Set a monthly limit for coin packages before you start
- Use free daily coins first
- See Sweeps Coins as a bonus, not as income
- Stop when it stops being fun
Where the McLuck app is available
McLuck is only for players aged 21 or over. It isn’t available in a long list of states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Washington and West Virginia. States that have recently banned sweepstakes casinos, such as California, Indiana, Maine, Oklahoma and Tennessee, are off-limits too.
The list changes often, so check the state rules in the app before you sign up. Our guide to sweepstakes casino apps explains how sweepstakes laws work.
McLuck app vs real-money casino apps
McLuck is a sweepstakes app, not a regulated casino. You don’t deposit or withdraw, and prize redemptions follow sweepstakes rules rather than gambling regulation. If you want to play for real money, the casino apps below accept US players in most states, and our USA guide explains what is legal where you live.
Is the McLuck Casino app worth it?
McLuck is one of the most complete sweepstakes apps: native apps on iPhone and Android, more than 1,000 games including live tables, and very low redemption thresholds. The main downsides are the 21+ age limit and the number of states where it isn’t available. If you’re in an eligible state, it’s one of the easiest sweepstakes apps to try.
