Fliff is a free social sportsbook app. You make sports picks with Fliff Coins for fun or with Fliff Cash, a sweepstakes currency that can be redeemed for prizes in eligible states. It is not a real-money sportsbook, and sweepstakes play is restricted in a growing number of states.
- Social sportsbook with spreads, props, parlays and live picks
- Fliff Coins for fun, Fliff Cash for sweepstakes prizes
- No deposit needed; coin packages are optional
- Sweepstakes play closed in California since 2026
- 4.8 on the App Store from 166K+ ratings
Fliff is the best-known social sportsbook in the US. It looks and feels like a real betting app, with spreads, moneylines, player props and parlays across the major leagues. But you never deposit money to place a pick. Fliff runs on two virtual currencies: Fliff Coins, which are just for fun, and Fliff Cash, a sweepstakes currency that can be redeemed for real prizes in eligible states. That model is why Fliff is available in many states where real-money sports betting is still not legal, and also why regulators are watching it closely.

How the Fliff app works
You pick a game, choose a market and add it to your slip, just like at a sportsbook. The difference is the currency. Picks made with Fliff Coins only affect your coin balance and the leaderboards. Picks made with Fliff Cash are sweepstakes entries: winnings in Fliff Cash can be redeemed for cash prizes once you reach the minimum balance and pass identity checks.
- Fliff Coins: the play-for-fun currency. You get them free and can buy more in coin packages. They have no cash value.
- Fliff Cash: the sweepstakes currency. It usually comes as a free bonus with coin purchases, through daily rewards or via free entry methods. Only Fliff Cash winnings can be redeemed.
- Redemptions: Fliff requires a minimum amount of eligible Fliff Cash and identity verification before you can redeem.
What you get in the app
- Picks on the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, soccer, tennis, MMA and more.
- Spreads, totals, moneylines, player props, live picks and parlays.
- Leaderboards, duels with friends and a live chat during games.
- Daily rewards, loyalty perks and level-ups.
- A social casino section next to the sportsbook.
Where is Fliff available?
Fliff is available in most US states, but the sweepstakes part (playing with Fliff Cash) is closed or limited in a growing list of states. California banned dual-currency sweepstakes as of January 1, 2026, so Fliff Cash play is no longer offered there. In February 2026 the Illinois Gaming Board sent Fliff a cease-and-desist letter as part of a wider action against sweepstakes operators. Several other states only allow coin play or limit how you can earn Fliff Cash. Always check the in-app location check and Fliff’s current sweepstakes rules before you play.
Is Fliff legit?
Fliff is a real company with published terms and sweepstakes rules, and players do redeem prizes. The legal risk is about the model itself: regulators and class-action lawyers argue that social sportsbooks are sports betting in disguise. A California lawsuit against Fliff was sent to arbitration in January 2026, and more states are moving against dual-currency sweepstakes. For you as a player, that mainly means availability can change quickly. Do not keep a large Fliff Cash balance waiting to be redeemed.

Mobile experience
Fliff is built for phones. The iOS app is light at around 80 MB, has a 4.8 rating from more than 160,000 ratings and has been on the App Store since 2019. On Google Play it has more than 500,000 downloads and a 4.7 rating. The design is fast and close to what you know from big US sportsbooks, which makes it an easy step for new players.
Who Fliff is for
Fliff suits sports fans in states without legal online sports betting who want the betting experience without risking a deposit. It is also a decent way to learn how odds, parlays and props work. If you want a fully regulated sportsbook, Fliff is not that. Compare it with Rebet, the other big social sportsbook, or with free prediction apps such as Stadium Live. Our overview of sports betting apps explains all options, including real-money sportsbooks.
Fliff vs real-money sportsbook apps
A real-money sportsbook such as Bovada takes deposits and pays winnings directly, with no coin or sweepstakes layer in between. Fliff keeps you out of direct wagering and can be used where real-money betting is not available, but prizes depend on sweepstakes rules and state law. If you prefer free tools for real betting, see Action Network for odds and Pikkit for bet tracking. Fliff also runs sweepstakes casino games.
