myVEGAS Blackjack is the card-game sibling of myVEGAS Slots. You play free blackjack at tables themed on Las Vegas resorts, and the loyalty points you earn count towards the same real-world rewards. In this myVEGAS Blackjack review we look at the game modes, the rewards and the catch.
Looking for real-money blackjack? myVEGAS Blackjack only uses virtual chips that can’t be cashed out. These casino apps let you play blackjack for real money and withdraw your winnings, where online casinos are legal for you.
What myVEGAS Blackjack actually is
myVEGAS Blackjack is a social casino app from PlayStudios, the Las Vegas studio behind myVEGAS Slots. It came to the App Store in 2014. You play with virtual chips only: there is no real-money gambling and chips can’t be cashed out. Playing earns loyalty points in the myVIP Rewards program, which you can redeem for perks such as hotel stays, meals and shows at MGM Resorts.
How to play myVEGAS Blackjack on your phone
- Download myVEGAS Blackjack from the App Store or Google Play (listed there as myVEGAS BlackJack 21 Card Game).
- Create an account to keep your chips and loyalty points, then collect the free chip giveaways.
- Pick a table. You start at the entry-level casino and unlock new casinos and higher limits as you progress.
- Play standard blackjack: hit, stand, double down or split, and try to beat the dealer without going over 21.
What you get in the app
The core is classic blackjack with a 3D table. Next to that you unlock variants such as Free Bet Blackjack, where the house pays for some doubles and splits, single-deck blackjack and a multi-deck table with a progressive jackpot side bet. Double or Nothing bonus games and collectible cards add a progression layer. The app also includes slot machines, so it is not purely a card game.
Each casino is styled after a real Las Vegas resort, such as MGM Grand, Excalibur, New York-New York, ARIA and Luxor. That ties in with the rewards: the same resorts appear in the rewards store.
Chips, ads and in-app purchases
The app is free, with free chips throughout the day and optional chip packages. Google Play lists it as containing ads. Because blackjack has a low house edge, chips last longer than in slot apps, but higher tables burn through them quickly.
Mobile experience
myVEGAS Blackjack plays in landscape mode and is a large download at about 400 MB on iOS. Ratings are good: 4.6 stars from about 13,000 App Store ratings and 4.4 on Google Play from about 118,000 reviews, with more than a million downloads.
Who myVEGAS Blackjack is for
It suits blackjack fans who also visit Las Vegas and like the idea of earning perks while they practise. If you only want to train basic strategy, a simpler app with strategy hints is a better fit.
myVEGAS Blackjack compared with other blackjack apps
MobilityWare Blackjack has strategy advice and is better for learning. Blackjackist focuses on multiplayer tables and side bets, and Tripledot Blackjack is the simplest to pick up. None of them offers real-world rewards. Interested in the real version of the Free Bet table? Read our Free Bet Blackjack app guide.
Prefer real-money blackjack?
myVEGAS Blackjack rewards are perks, not winnings. To play blackjack for real money and withdraw what you win, these casino apps offer several blackjack variants. Check that real-money play is allowed where you live first.
